Blazers Weekend Wrap Up: Seminoff Shines as Kamloops’s Four Game Winning Streak Heads Into November.

The Kamloops Blazers head into November on a four-game winning streak.

Kamloops versus Victoria

On Friday, the Blazers fired 58 shots at Royals goaltender Campbell Arnold en route to a 7-1 victory over the Royals.

The Blazers has 20 shots in the first and third period. 18 in the second period. Six different players scored goals for the Blazers. 12 Blazers had at least one point.

Matthew Seminoff scored two goals, while Caeden Bankler, Daylan Kuefler, Nick McCarry, Josh Pillar, and Fraser Minten all chipped in with one for the Blazers. Viktor Persson chipped in with two assists.

As impressive as the offence night was, their defensive game was also just as special. The Blazers allowed just 16 shots on Dylan Garand. Five in the first, six in the second, and just five in the third. Brayden Schuurman was the only Royal that beat Garand.

Kamloops versus Prince George

Matthew Seminoff was the first star again as he had a goal and two assists, leading the Blazers to a 4-1 win. Seminoff had three goals and two assists this weekend. He now has 13 points this season. That ties him with Josh Pillar and Logan Stankovwen for the team lead.

Connor Levis, Ethan Brandwood, and Reese Belton also scored for the Blazers, while Riley Heidt scored the only goal for the Cougars.

The Blazers peppered 49 shots on Taylor Gauthier. That gave them a two-game shot total of 107 for the weekend.

Dylan Garand was busier on Saturday than he was on Friday.  He faced 28 shots and made 27 saves. It’s also the fourth time and five games that the Blazers allowed just two or fewer goals. With a record of  8-1, they have the third-best record in the WHL. Only the Winnipeg Ice and Everett Silvertips have a higher winning percentage than the Blazers.

Next Game

The Portland Winterhawks come to the Sandman Centre on Wednesday. It is the first time Kamloops has faced a U.S. opponent since Tuesday, March 10, 2020, against the Spokane Chiefs. It will also be a special night as both anthems will be sung for the first time in over 600 days.
