In front of 100 happy season ticket owners, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz officially started the new ice age on Wednesday morning. After the start of the training session, the Upper Austrians will celebrate the new season 2025/26 together with all their fans at the traditional season opening.
The first training session of the new season opened the first training session of the new season on Wednesday morning under loud cheers of the 100 invited season ticket owners. For around 90 minutes, the trainer and his team transferred the first processes to the ice. The four new additions presented themselves confidently and highly motivated in the circle of their new teammates from the start. For the Linz training, the start of training marks the starting shot in the traditionally intensive construction phase for the championship in the Win2day Ice Hockey League, which started in September. Until then, a total of six test games are on the program – three of them in Linz AG Eisarena.
First highlight on Friday: Season Opening
The first big highlight of the new season is already increasing next Friday: At the traditional Season Opening, Brian Lebler and Co. look forward to seeing you again with her fans after the summer break. From 6 p.m. the team presentation including autograph session takes place in the outdoor area of the park. Entry for all fans is free!
PVC cards & pre-sale for the league start
As part of the great reunion, there is also the possibility on Friday to collect the PVC form acquired at the office. At the same time, the fanshop opens its gates. In addition, the sale of the day tickets for the first four home games of the Win2day Ice Hockey League 2025/26 also starts. After the Season Opening, these are available online as usual online at tickets.blackwings.at.

Head Coach Philipp Lukas: “We are very happy that it finally starts again. Of course, the legs are still a bit difficult at the beginning of the preparation, and it takes a certain time for the processes to be established again. But you can already feel that our boys are highly motivated – it was all the better to celebrate the start despite the ongoing renovation work with some fans.”
Shawn St-Amant: “The break is finally over and we are all very excited to continue where we stopped in April. The pre-season is always hard and there is a lot of work ahead of us-but of course we try to prepare for the championship as much as possible.”
