Ville Leskinen stormed in the win2day ICE Hockey League for a year and then went to Slovakia. Now the Finn is drawn back to his homeland.
Until the end of the 2020/21 season, Leskinen played exclusively in Finland, after which he moved from Jukurit in the Finnish first division to HKM Zvolen in Slovakia. The following year he stormed for Kosice, and in the summer he moved to SonderjyskE in Denmark. But Leskinen was only supposed to play four games there and then find his way to the ICEHL.
In the Olimpija Ljubljana uniform, the now 30-year-old knew how to impress offensively and scored 15 goals and 28 points in 40 games. This made him the fourth best scorer for the Dragons, even though he didn’t play the entire regular season.
But during the following summer break they parted ways and Leskinen returned to Slovakia, where he played for Dukla Trencin until recently. But now it’s time to return to his homeland. The tall winger joins the traditional club Jokerit Helsinki, which currently takes part in the Finnish “Mestis”.
