Reinbacher played in the first block of the Canadiens and received a lot of ice age. Coach Pascal Vincent expressly praised his protégé: “He is a very clever guy, gives good answers. He played in a fighting team in Switzerland, you can see maturity in his game. He is a good ice rink, I like it how he works.” Rohrer showed qualities, blocked shots in particular in the output game, and even developed a dangerous chance in the 52nd minute.
In the meantime, the Canadiens led 2-0, but conceded the equalization in the middle third within just 16 seconds and had to accept the decisive goal 25 seconds before the end. In addition to Kapanen, the highly traded 19-year-old Russian Ivan Demidov, pulled in the fifth place in the draft last year, also entered the goal scorer list.
