KAC-CO coach Fischer: “We would have needed a save or a goal to score”

The KAC had to accept a 2-3 defeat against the Graz99ers yesterday. After a weak start of the start, the team of Head Coach Kirk Furey and Assistant Coach David Fischer for a long time ran behind – in the end there was little missing to take at least one point.

“We are still working on our consistency in the initial phases, Graz came out of the cabin now nimble and hard and missed three deep blows,” analyzed Fischer after the game. The red jackets only found their rhythm after the early shock. “Then we woke up and brought our speed and intensity level up for the rest of the game. We have to achieve this level in order to be successful to have fun playing great.”

Overall, the KAC assistant coach was by no means dissatisfied despite the defeat:
“I saw many good things from our team today, it was fun to be there: the pace was high, it was emotionally, competitive, physically – everything you want to see in an ice hockey game. Apart from the result.”

Now there are a few game -free days on the program for the Klagenfurter. You want to use this time to work on the details. Fischer emphasized: “We have now completed five games and continue to work on bringing our speed and intensity to a level that we can then hold for 60 minutes. We would have needed a save or gate to score more to win – so we look forward to improvement work, and we look forward to this.”
