The Pioneers Vorarlberg beat Olimpija Ljubljana 5-2 in front of their home crowd in the last game before Christmas. After Oskar Maier took the lead early (2nd), the guests from Slovenia turned the game around in the first third before the Pioneers took over the game in the middle period. Goals from Collin Adams and Maier again gave the team a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes. In the final third, the home team extended their lead through Ramon Schnetzer (44th), then defended consistently and kept Ljubljana at bay thanks to a strong David Madlener. Gallant scored an empty-net goal in the final minute to make the final score 5-2.
