ICEHL: Manuel Ganahl is approaching a special milestone!

Only a few cracks in the domestic league history have so many games under their belt, again Vorarlberg’s Manuel Ganahl. Game 2 of the final series between the Graz99ers and HC Pustertal will be a very special one.

Thomas Koch, Thomas Raffl, John Hughes, Michael Schiechl, Thomas Hundertpfund, Philippe Lakos, Daniel Oberkofler – that’s it. Only seven players in the history of the EBEL/ICEHL have played more games (basic round + playoffs) than Manuel Ganahl, who is currently fighting for the championship title with the Moser Medical Graz99ers.

Graz & Klagenfurt

He celebrated his debut at EBEL level in 2009, wearing the Graz99ers uniform, where things came full circle again last year. The striker spent a year in Finland and played the rest of his long professional career for the Styrians and the EC-KAC. With the red jackets he was crowned champion in 2020/21. He has made a total of 421 appearances for his current employer, followed today by number 422 – and the 35-year-old is playing his 900th league game.

Top 10 in the all-time leaderboard

In his previous appearances, the Bludenz native has scored 193 goals and 536 points – 7th place in the all-time best list of the domestic league. Places 5 and 6 definitely still seem to be within reach: Rafael Rotter is currently in 6th place with 540 points, Matthias Trattnig was able to collect six points more in his career. After that, however, there is a bigger jump to Thomas Raffl, who has 741 scorer points.
