EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 2-1 victory over Rittner Buam SkyAlps in the only Tuesday game of the Alps Hockey League, thus promoting the two non-playing teams KHL Sisak and EK Die Zeller Eisbären early into the 2026 playoffs.
The two table neighbors Rittner Buam SkyAlps and EC Bregenzerwald fought a hard-fought duel on Tuesday evening. The South Tyrolean hosts got off to a better start and took the lead through Robert Öhler in the seventh minute. The guests from Vorarlberg held strong against it and used their first power play of the evening: ECB top scorer Roberts Lipsbergs scored in the first period to equalize the score at 1-1. In the second third, the guests impressed with their efficiency. Despite the Rittner Buam having more chances, Nico Kramer scored the opening goal with a double majority. As the game progressed, ECB keeper Lorenz Widhalm in particular stood out, not allowing another goal and securing the three points for Bregenzerwald.
Due to the Rittner Buam’s defeat, the KHL Sisak and the EK Die Zeller Eisbären are firmly in the 2026 playoffs. Both teams – just like the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who already bought their playoff ticket last week – can no longer be pushed out of the top 5.
