Million project: Alpshl team is planning a new arena!

The Alpshl Club from Asiago plans to build a state-of-the-art ice rink, for which around 27 million euros are estimated-this is reported by “Sport news”.

The aging Stadio Odegar, which was recently only renovated selectively, is to be completely replaced. A feasibility study commissioned by the association has already been evaluated positively. With the new arena, the club wants to secure its future and become internationally competitive again in the long term.

The Italian ice sports association (FISG) had recently increased the pressure on the club and referred to the unsolved stadium question – a crucial reason why Asiago left the ICE Hockey League in spring. Since then, the club has been playing a league deeper in the Alpshl.

FISG, the Veneto region and a municipal fund, should be financed. A modern stadium with a larger spectator capacity (currently around 2,200 seats), a second ice area, a sports hall and other multifunctional rooms is planned. The aim is not only to strengthen the professional and young area, but also to promote ice hockey sports in the region.

Construction could start in the coming years. For Asiago, the new arena would be a milestone and a strong signal for returning to the international ice hockey scene.
