Relief in Linz: “Finally scoring again was very important!”

With a victory over the EC Red Bull Salzburg, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz stopped their negative run and fueled confidence. Now the view is directed to the front.

The Linzer could no longer win five games in a row, the sheet turned against the reigning master. A strong performance ensured a 3: 2 overtime success and had the fans cheer in Linz AG Eisarena. Travis Barron’s fourth goal of the season ensured the final score.

“It was very important to finally score again for a long time,” head coach Phil Lukas told “Kronen Zeitung“. The performance was already good against the KAC, but there was no points.

Gosses praise for Brian Lebler

Black Wings icon Brian Lebler cheered over his sixth season goal when he pushed in to 1-1 in minute 25. Dominique Heinrich praised his former national team colleagues in the ORF comment: “To shoot this way-only a few can be able to shoot that even in the NHL.” With eight scorer points, the old master is in second place in the internal scoring ranking. Barron leads them with nine points.

You now want to take the upswing into the upcoming games. This week there is only one game on the program for the Linzer – a guest performance at Olimpija Ljubljana. Further away games will follow in Budapest and Bruneck next week before the Black Wings received the Graz99ers on October 24th.
