The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated their sixth win in a row in the only Tuesday game in the Alps Hockey League. The Salzburg team won 2-1 at home against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and thus extended their lead in the table. Maximilian Wurzer and Nick Maul scored the goals for the home team.
As in the first duel of the season, the Juniors again had the upper hand against the Broncos. After the 4-1 away win ten days ago, Salzburg followed up on Tuesday evening in their own hall. The home team, who dominated the game, took the lead in the tenth minute when Maximilian Wurzer finished freely in the slot. The juniors continued to dominate the action, but left their chances unused for a long time. In the 54th minute, Nick Maul finally made it 2-0 after a counterattack and a perfect Oberhauser pass. Vipiteno risked everything in the final phase and took goalie Groh off the ice two minutes before the end. Davide Conci scored the next goal 43 seconds before the end of regular time, but the guests could no longer do anything more. The Juniors consolidated their role as currently the best home team in the league and extended their lead in the table.
Cortina vs. Val Gardena postponed
The game between SG Cortina Hafro and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed at short notice to Sunday, December 7th. The reason for this is that Val Gardena cannot provide a goalkeeper due to illness and therefore cannot compete. Cortina agreed to the postponement so that the game could be rescheduled.
