AlpsHL preview: Austro duel between Bregenzerwald & Kitzbühel!

The Alps Hockey League continues with a full round on Thursday. As a highlight, the game between the Rittner Buam SkyAlps and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will be offered as a free live stream on Valcome.tv. There will also be a clash between Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and EC Bregenzerwald as well as EK Die Zeller Eisbären against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it.

On Thursday there will be the second duel of the season between Ritten and Vipiteno. As a special highlight, this game will be broadcast as a free live stream on Valcome.tv. In the first meeting, the Broncos narrowly had the upper hand with 2:1/OT. The two teams also faced each other in preparation for the season, and Ritten narrowly prevailed 4:3/SO. Both teams are currently in good form: While seventh-placed Ritten has won the last three games, ninth-placed Sterzing recently suffered a 3-7 home defeat against Asiago, but before that they celebrated four wins in a row. Kitzbühel against Bregenzerwald for important points in the fight for the top 5
The duel between Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and EC Bregenzerwald is about extremely important points in the fight for the top 5. The defending champion and third in the table from Zell am See is currently in better form, with three wins from the last five games. Tenth Val Gardena, on the other hand, was only able to win one of the last five games and only two of the last ten games. The “Furie” has been waiting for a win away from home since October 9th and in nine games. With just five points, Val Gardena is currently the weakest away team in the league.

Sisak, second in the table, calls for Cortina
Second-placed KHL Sisak is four points behind the leaders from Salzburg after the Red Bull Hockey Juniors’ Tuesday win. SG Cortina Hafro is currently eighth and has to be careful not to lose sight of the top 5. The gap to fifth-placed Asiago is currently seven points. In the first duel of the season with Sisak, the Italians celebrated a narrow 3-2/SO home win. Cortina are currently unbeaten for three games in a row, while Sisak is also in excellent form, with four wins from his last five games.

Asiago welcomes Merano
As fifth in the table, HC Migross Asiago currently holds the last direct Master Round place. HC Meran/o Pircher, on the other hand, is only in twelfth place and is already 16 points behind Asiago. Asiago narrowly won the first duel of the season in a high-scoring game with 6:5/SO. Most recently, the league returnees celebrated a 7-3 away win in Vipiteno – one of three wins from the last five games. Meran, on the other hand, was only able to win one of the last five games and a total of only two of the last ten games.

Bottom team Unterland meets Jesenice
On Thursday there will also be a meeting between bottom team Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and eleventh-placed HDD Jesenice. The Slovenians were already in action in Salzburg on Tuesday this week and lost 3-1. It was their first defeat after two wins in a row. Unterland was unable to win the last two games and only recorded one win from the last five games. In the first duel of the season with Jesenice, Unterland lost 4:7 away. It was the fifth win in a row for last year’s finalists against the South Tyroleans.
