In the first of just two Alps Hockey League games this week, HDD Jesenice will face EC Bregenzerwald on Tuesday. For the Slovenians it is the first game of Qualification Round B. Last week several Jesenice players were in action for the national team, which is why the team took a break in the league.
Bregenzerwald lost its only game so far in the second round against Ritten narrowly 2:3 and is in third place in the table with three points. Jesenice only finished twelfth in the basic round and therefore starts the qualification round from fourth place without any bonus points. The Slovenians won the last game of the regular season against Kitzbühel 5-4 – it was their first win after four defeats in a row. Bregenzerwald remained winless in the last three games. In one of the three meetings so far this season, the Vorarlbergers beat Jesenice 3-2. In their only meeting in Slovenia they were defeated 3-0.
