David Kickert has been in the EC Red Bull Salzburg squad since 2022 and that will not change in the coming season.
Last season, the 32-year-old Austro crack delivered what was probably his best season to date. In 20 appearances for the series champions, the national team goalkeeper only conceded 1.44 (!) goals per game and had a catch rate of 94.1% at the end of the “regular season”. He was only used once in the playoffs – in game four, which lasted until the 106th minute.
The Mozartstadt team announced via social media that the Korneuburg native, who won three championship titles with the Red Bulls, will also be on the Salzach in the 2026/27 season. Kickert, who made his debut in the EBEL for the Vienna Capitals in 2013/14, can look back on the experience of over 250 regular season games and has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in the entire win2day ICE Hockey League in recent years.
