The 45-year-old Norwegian technician wishes to join his family in Sweden, underlines the EVZ in a press release. He has been in office since the summer of 2018.
“These seven years have been marked by many unforgettable experiences, successes and friendships. I am incredibly grateful,” said Dan Tangnes, quoted in the club press release. Under his leadership, Zug won a Swiss Cup in 2019, then two national titles in 2021 and 2022.
“But my family returned to Sweden two years ago and I want to be closer to my wife and my 14-year-old daughter. So I asked EVZ to terminate my contract at the end of this season,” further explains Dan Tangnes, whose succession will be settled in due time. “We will take the necessary time to recruit the new head coach,” underlines general manager Reto Kläy, who admits that Tangnes’ decision “surprised us”.
