ICEHL: Innsbrucker Haie miss the tournament victory in Merano with 2: 4 loss!

In the second game of the preparation tournament in Merano, the HCI loses 2: 4 against Landshut. But more would have been possible for the sharks.

With the HCI and the EV Landshut, the two winners of the day met yesterday in Merano. While the Haie Asiago was 9-2 in its barriers, the DEL2 club against the organizer Meran was 5-0. In today’s game it was also about the tournament victory at the Hansjörg Brunner Memorial.

The sharks have a better start, appear extremely aggressively, and have clearly more of the game in the first few minutes and some good opportunities. Steven Owre finds the biggest, but he fails due to the excellently disposed goalie Jonas Langmann (7th). After that, both teams have an overpowering game, but that both Landshut and the sharks leave out. The Germans are unlucky in a crossbar. With 5 against 5, the sharks are then further superior, have a huge chance to lead through Darien Craighead in minute 16, but Langmann can also stand out in the Landshut Tor in this scene. After 20 minutes it is 0-0.

Gates only in the middle third

The second section brings more aggressiveness and hardness, more present Landshut, and goals. The first good chance have the sharks again, but Owre fails after a nice single handle. Then the fists fly. After a foul on an Innsbrucker, the emotions discharge. The result: another power play for the sharks, but it has to go into the shower prematurely, like a Landshut. The sharks stay in the power play without a hit and are lucky with a rod shot on the other side. In the 27th minute, the Landshuter landed a double strike. Both times the sharks are disorganized on the defensive, Jakob Mayenschein and Pascal put a 2-0 for the EVL within a few seconds. The Tyroleans need something to recover from this shock, but then work out again. Towards the end of the third, the Landshuters in Powerplay increase to 3: 0. Tobias Lindberg meets a nice combination. However, the sharks can strike back in front of the siren. A shot is deflected unsustainably to 1: 3. Kilian Rappold is managed as the official goal scorer.

In the final section you notice the teams. After all, it is the second game for both within 24 hours. The game is a little more torn, the offensive series are no longer so much in the fore. And it stays heated. In minute 47, two players have to get off the ice again after a brawl. This time it meets the Haie Noah Kerber. A little later, Lindberg increases with his second power play goal of the afternoon to 4: 1 for the EVL. This made the preliminary decision. More than the 2: 4 shortly before the end by Marcel Witting is no longer inside.

The HCI loses 2: 4 against the EV Landshut after an intensive, hard and tight game. The Landshuters also win the tournament victory. For the sharks it was a good last test for the Win2day Ice Hockey League, which started next Friday.
