The EC-KAC ended the pre-season with a 3-0 win against Starbulls Rosenheim from the DEL, but paid the victory with injuries by Matt Fraser and Tobias Sablattnig.
First third
In a first, hidden Hanna shot from the high slot, the Klagenfurt defensive cleared the promising rebound (4th), followed a power play for the Starbulls: The puck, jumped happily to him, was hammered directly onto the box by Ville Järveläinen, but sailed past this (5th). Second third
In the second section, the Kempe deflection of a Murray shot flew over the housing (22nd), on the opposite side a diagonal pass reached from the baseline from Järveläinen on the long post, Dahm parried strongly after lateral movement (26.). Mario Kempe was stopped by Goalie Autio after passing Murray (52nd) and from (55th). In a phase of numerical inferiority, Tobias Sablattnig also resigned from the lawsuits (58th). Mathias From, whose Empty Net attempt from the neutral zone was still deflected by an opponent to the mesh (60th) was concluded.

“A bitter sweet day. To see how Matt injured himself was an unpleasant memory of how mean our sport could be. How the team reacted together and showed a lot of team spirit was very nice. How the shots were blocked, how the boys worked for each other, that also makes you a little emotionally. Kempe was a welcome reinforcement in the pre-season in the group, which was seen today.
