The 19-year-old defender, born in Santo Domingo and with Italian-Dominican roots, has been considered one of the most exciting defensive talents of his year for years. At 1.89 m tall, Nitz has the size of a defender.
Steady development in South Tyrol
Nitz completed most of his training in South Tyrol, where he was developed step by step with the youth teams in Brixen and Vipiteno. Particularly in Italy’s U19 leagues, he was able to make an impact both offensively and defensively and quickly developed into a reliable two-way defender.
The transition to the adult area took place via the
Alps Hockey League-Club
Vipiteno/Vipiteno Broncos. There he collected valuable minutes against experienced professionals in the last two seasons.
