The Dane Sebastian Dahm has been an integral part of the KAC squad for many years and has worked his way up the statistical rankings in the eight seasons so far. A special record is now within reach.
In 2015, the now 36-year-old was on EBEL ice for the first time, back then for the Graz99ers, for whom he played two seasons. After three years in the DEL, he returned to the top domestic league in 2020 and has since been one of the best goalkeepers in the win2day ICE Hockey League.
The Danish national goalkeeper completed 364 shutouts at ICE level (including playoffs) and was able to record 39 shutouts in the regular season and ten more in the playoffs – 38 for the Red Jackets, eleven for the Graz99ers. Dahm thus scratches JP Lamoureux’s all-time record, which stands at exactly 50 zeros. “It would be cool for me if we were first together soon – “JP” and I have a long history that started early in the USA,” said Dahm to the “Crown newspaper“.
Remarkable: Dahm receives a bonus for every shutout, which he shares with the team: “I share it with the boys, some of it goes into the team’s coffers – because without their help, I could never keep the box clean.”
