ICEHL team is looking forward to the return of its top scorer!

Tomorrow, Friday, the Vienna Capitals will play their last regular season game against HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. While the South Tyroleans were able to win the first two duels just after overtime, the Donaustadt team won 3-2 after regular time in the last meeting to date on December 21, 2025. Tomorrow’s duel in the STEFFL Arena is the first of four Caps home games in the next nine days. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. and the match will be broadcast via sporteurope.tv.

The Vienna Capitals are in tenth place in the table with 49 points ten games before the end of the regular season. The lead over EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV, which is outside the pre-playoff places with one game less than eleventh, is three points. A lot is still possible for the Viennese. The seventh-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19 has played one game more than the Capitals and is only five points ahead.

The hospital is clearing out!

Fortunately, the hospital thins out considerably at this stage of the season. After Senna Peeters and Sebastian Wraneschitz were able to play after long injury breaks last week, Jérémy Grégoire will return tomorrow against the HCP. The Canadian suffered an upper body injury against EC-KAC at the end of December that cost him eight games. This means that only Marco Richter is missing tomorrow, whose season has been over since mid-November due to a surgically treated upper body injury.

The two former long-term injured players Wraneschitz and Peeters already showed up last week. Goalie Wraneschitz came on as a substitute at the start of the second period in the 4-0 defeat in Feldkirch on Friday and kept his goal clean with nine saves. In the subsequent 5-2 win in Innsbruck, the 23-year-old recorded 25 saves. Wraneschitz completed the western Austria road trip with a catch rate of 94.4 percent. Peeters was one of the Viennese’s few assets in his season debut in Feldkirch. In Innsbruck, the 23-year-old rewarded himself at his old place of work with his first goal in the second competitive game for the Caps. Capitals top scorer Linden Vey played a key role in the success in Tyrol with a goal and an assist. After 37 games, the 34-year-old has 38 points (10 goals + 28 assists). With his two assists in Innsbruck, Scott Kosmachuk raised his points average in nine games to exactly 1.0 (2 goals + 7 assists).

Fundraising campaign is heading towards a record!

Away from the sporting events, the Students Night presented by ACSL takes place in the STEFFL Arena. Students can enjoy the best ice hockey action tomorrow for just €10. At the same time, the charitable campaign “Icefire helps” ends tomorrow. The Vienna Capitals’ largest fan club is heading for a new record with its fundraising campaign. In order to actually crack this, Icefire is collecting cup donations after tomorrow’s game.

Statement Jérémy Grégoire, Vienna Capitals attacker

I’m feeling good, I’ve been working a lot in the gym over the last few weeks during my forced break. I’m ready and looking forward to my comeback. Pustertal is a team that is very good on offense. They move a lot in the offensive zone, so it will be important that we work well in front of our goal. On the other hand, we have to take advantage of our opportunities. It’s always great to play here in front of our fans. There are always a lot of visitors to the STEFFL Arena, and we want to achieve a positive result for them tomorrow too.
