This Sunday there are five matches on the program in the win2day ICE Hockey League. League leaders HC Falkensteiner Pustertal play against reigning champions EC Red Bull Salzburg. EC-KAC and Olimpija Ljubljana will play the live game on ORF Sport+.
The Moser Medical Graz99ers have parted ways with head coach Harry Lange with immediate effect after the overtime defeat in Linz. Sports director and U20 team boss Philipp Pinter takes over on an interim basis. The 40-year-old from Carinthia will be behind the boards at the home game against Pioneers Vorarlberg.
The EC-KAC is in top form in October and has won all six games of the month so far – each of them by just one goal difference. In the 2-1 away win after a penalty shootout in Fehérvár, goalie Florian Vorauer impressed with 33 saves, while Jordan Murray scored in both regular time and the shootout. Despite the third away win in a row, Klagenfurt is still in seventh place in the table, but already has the fourth-best average in the league with 1.91 points per game. The Red Jackets have only scored eight of the 21 points at home so far. On Sunday they will host Olimpija Ljubljana in the ORF Sport+ live game. The Slovenians started the 2025/26 season spectacularly and won nine of their twelve games so far. Ljubljana is particularly in top form offensively – with an impressive average of 5.17 goals per game. The offensive department is led by the league’s leading scorers TJ Brennan (23 points) and Nicolai Meyer (24 points). The power play, which currently has a success rate of 33.3% and scored at least two powerplay goals in half of all games this season, plays a large part in the attack. Klagenfurt won the last three direct duels.
A real top game is also coming up in Salzburg: EC Red Bull Salzburg hosts league leaders HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. The reigning champions recently improved to fourth place with two wins and celebrated their highest win of the season so far in a 7-2 win against Budapest on Friday. Things are going even better for the South Tyroleans: With the overtime win over Villach, the HCP took the lead in the table. The team from Bruneck won six of their last seven games and won three of the last four duels with Salzburg – three of these games ended with a difference of just one goal.
HCB Südtirol Alperia improved to third place with two wins, scoring seven goals and only conceding one goal. With only 22 goals conceded, the HCB currently has the best defense in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Now Bolzano is traveling to Budapest for the first time, where FTC-Telekom wants to get back on the road to success after two defeats. Budapest has won three of its five previous home games, while Bolzano has impressed with four wins from five away games. In the first duel, the Foxes celebrated a 2-0 shutout.
The Moser Medical Graz99ers have parted ways with head coach Harry Lange with immediate effect after the overtime defeat in Linz. Sports director and U20 team boss Philipp Pinter takes over on an interim basis. The 40-year-old Carinthian already led Saturday’s training and will be behind the gang at the home game against Pioneers Vorarlberg. It’s the guests’ second game within 24 hours – they’re in Vienna on Saturday. Graz won the last five direct duels with the Pioneers, including the first meeting of the season.
Both the Steinbach Black Wings Linz and Hydro Fehérvár AV19 had to work “overtime” on Friday. The Upper Austrians ended their losing streak with an overtime win against Graz, while the Hungarians lost in the shootout against Klagenfurt. Linz has scored all seven points so far on home ice. Fehérvár won the first duel of the season 1-0 and also won the last three direct encounters.
