The EHC Bregenzerwald can look forward to the return of a familiar face: Antti Kauppila is once again strengthening the forests’ defense. The 36-year-old Finnish defender not only brings international experience, but also knows the club and the local area very well.
Kauppila has played for EHC Bregenzerwald for a total of four years in the past and was one of the most consistent performers during this time. After his first time in Bregenzerwald, the left-shooter gained further experience abroad, including in the ICE Hockey League, where he was under contract with the Dornbirn Bulldogs. This was followed by several positions in various European leagues.
Kauppila most recently completed the 2024/25 season with the French first division club Chamonix. At the beginning of the current season he moved to the French second division before the opportunity arose to return to Vorarlberg.
