The Canadian-Italian attacker Matt Bradley has been one of the most striking offensive players in the ICE Hockey League for years. After a strong season at HC Bozen, the striker has now made people sit up and take notice: Bradley has publicly expressed his desire to stay in South Tyrol to “Sportnews”.
From North American professional to ICEHL top performer
Bradley’s career began classically in the North American junior system. He developed into a reliable scorer in the WHL before making the leap to Europe via the ECHL and short stints in the AHL.
The move to the ICEHL quickly turned out to be a turning point. Bradley already showed his class with the Vienna Capitals.
Breakthrough in Vienna
His first full year in the ICEHL was an immediate breakthrough. At the Vienna Capitals, Bradley impressed straight away with his consistent scoring. In 89 games for the capital city, the striker scored a strong 104 points.
New challenge: Germany and return to Italy
After his strong time in Vienna, he made a short detour to the DEL to the Straubing Tigers. Although he was able to show solid performances there, he didn’t quite achieve the dominance that distinguished him in the ICEHL.
With the move to HC Bozen, Bradley finally found his way back to his old strength. In a competitive environment, he immediately took on responsibility and became a key player in the Foxes’ offensive system.
Top performers at HC Bozen
His stats speak for themselves: 105 games, 90 points, almost a point per game. Bradley is one of the most important players in South Tyrol and the most complete player in the squad.
Playoff disappointment as a turning point
The early playoff exit still hurts, as the Italian-Canadian reveals to “Sportnews”. However, this disappointment also seems to be a driving force. His clear statement – “I want to stay here and win a title.”
Looking ahead: a decision is pending
Although discussions with the club have already taken place, Bradley’s future is still open. There should be plenty of offers – both within Europe and possibly from other leagues. But his words are clear: HC Bozen is his favorite.
National team and next goals
In parallel to his club career, Bradley also plays for the Italian national team. With a view to the upcoming World Cup, he wants to take on a key role there and contribute to staying in the league.
