Monster punishment after a brutal stick hit in the face!

A serious incident caused a lot of discussion in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) last week. Brampton Steelheads Canadian defenseman Luke Dragusica has been suspended for the remainder of the 2025-26 season following a brutal incident on November 14th.

The 18-year-old attacked his opponent, Brady Blaseg of the Oshawa Generals, with a two-handed stick blow directly to the face. The scene immediately sparked shock and criticism, as such a hit is one of the most dangerous actions in ice hockey and can cause serious injuries.

Initially, the league had suspended Dragusica indefinitely pending a full hearing. After evaluating all the circumstances, the final decision was made: a ban for the entire remainder of the season. The OHL is once again underlining its zero-tolerance policy towards attacks on the head and dangerous playing behavior.
