HC Innsbruck goalie under pressure: “There just has to come more”

The goalkeeper position is becoming increasingly important for HC Innsbruck. Haie chairman Günther Hanschitz significantly targeted goalie Matt Vernon after the mixed start of the season:

“There just has to come more. He has to keep the team in the game with important saves,” Hanschitz told the crown. In fact, the 27-year-old North American, son of Stanley Cup winner Mike Vernon, has not yet been able to convince. In his first four missions, he brought it to a catch rate of only 83 percent. It is currently the worst single goalie of the entire league.

A bitter step backwards compared to the previous year: At that time it was Evan Buitenhuis who saved the sharks with outstanding performances. The Canadian shone with a catch rate of 92.55 percent.
