HCB Südtirol Alperia beat Olimpija Ljubljana 4-1 and, as fifth in the table, reduced the gap to the Slovenians, who are in fourth place, to just one point. For Olimpija it was the third defeat in a row and the second in the third duel of the season with Bolzano. The South Tyroleans were also able to rehabilitate themselves for the 5-2 home defeat against Vienna in the last game before Christmas and celebrated their third win from the last five games. In an intense game, Matt Bradley gave the home team the lead 46 seconds before the end of the first period.
