FTC-Telekom celebrated a surprising 4-2 home win against EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Hungarians had already won their first home game against the Red Bulls 2-1. With the win, FTC climbs to eighth place in the table and is now four points ahead of eleventh-placed Villach, albeit with three more games played. Salzburg remains third in the table. The hosts initially trailed after Peter Schneider gave the guests the lead in the 17th minute. Joose Antonen equalized 58 seconds before the end of the first period. It was the Finn’s sixth appearance in the Hungarian uniform and the fourth game in which he scored. One second before the end of the game, Antonen made the final score 4-2 with an empty net goal. Before that, Gordon Green (29th) and András Mihalik made it 3-1 for FTC before Lucas Thaler (47th) shortened the score for Salzburg. As a result, the Red Bulls were stuck with FTC goalie Bence Balizs, who saved 40 of 42 shots.
