The Swedish veteran
Simon Hjalmarsson
is obviously facing an uncertain future and could therefore become interesting again for the transfer market. According to current information, his commitment to his Finnish club has expired and will not be renewed.
Hjalmarsson is still well remembered, especially in Austria. In the 2021/22 season, the winger ran for the
Graz99ers in the ICEHL and immediately became one of the most important offensive players there. With 39 points in 47 games, he was the team’s top scorer and was particularly impressive as a playmaker with overview and experience.
After his strong season in Graz, the Swedes moved to Finland
Vaasan sports. There he initially continued his achievements seamlessly and quickly established himself as a top performer. In the 2024/25 season he even achieved a real exclamation mark with 60 points in 60 games.
However, in the current 2025/26 season he was not able to fully confirm these values. Although Hjalmarsson remained an important part of the team, his production declined noticeably. His team Vaasan Sport missed the playoffs again as bottom of the table.
