Yesterday, 4,200 fans saw fireworks from the Black Wings Linz, who gave Fehervar no chance and won 7-0. Right in the middle of the celebration: 17-year-old Jonathan Oschgan, who gave more than just a test of talent. The striker scored his very first ICEHL goal to make it 5-0 and then went on to make it 7-0 at the end of the game, marking a brace.
Oschgan, whose brother Benedikt guards the goal in Sweden, was happy after the game to the “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten”: “It’s an incredible feeling – especially in front of such a crowd. The fans are pushing us great. The puck has a special place at home, I have a big collection.”
The Linzer is not the only youngster who is currently showing off in the ICEHL. It was only last Sunday that KAC striker Johannes Dobrovolny scored his first ICEHL goal and followed that up yesterday in Laibach, scoring again. The Klagenfurt native is five months younger than Oschgan and told the “Kleine Zeitung” after his debut goal: “It’s a childhood dream coming true. I’ll definitely enjoy this evening very much.” He has clear goals for the next few weeks: “I want to take my steps one by one, now it’s just a matter of continuing to work hard and earning more and more ice time.”
