NHL star announces his end of career!

The long -time captain of Los Angeles Kings, Anže Kopitar, has announced his end of his career after the coming season. The 38-year-old center, who has been playing for the Californians continuously since the NHL draft in 2005, will complete his 20th season in the world’s best ice hockey league.

Kopitar led the Kings 2012 and 2014 to two Stanley Cup triumphs and shaped the franchise like no other. The Slovenian has been wearing the “C” on the chest since 2016. In 1454 main round games so far, he booked 440 goals and 838 templates. There are also 103 playoff inserts with 27 goals and 62 assists.

“I still feel very good on the ice, my numbers are pretty good,” said Kopitar in an interview with ESPN. “But of course I have a family at home that probably needs me as urgently as the boys on the ice.”
