The Feldkirchers also won 2-1 in the second preparation match. Again against a representative of the Swiss League, the GCK Lions.
The American Nathan Burke, who formed a series of storms with Cole Gallant and Julian Metzler, made his debut on Feldkirch Eis. After a goalless first section, the Pioneers took the lead in the second section through a Powerplay Tor from Collin Adams. In the hotly competitive final third, the Swiss managed to equalize with a beautiful goal from Berner before Adams made the final score again with a beautifully played goal. Already on Sunday the Pioneers will continue against league competitor HCI in Innsbruck.
Plus opportunities for Pioneers in the start of the start, but no gates
At the beginning of the game, the Pioneers had significantly more of the game and also came to good chances, but all of them could not be used. Above all, the line around captain Kevin Macierzynski gave the opponent a lot to think. What was missing again was the last precision in the end. After the home side had survived an outnumber, they stayed on the pusher. A good five minutes before the first change of sides, captain Macierzynski had the chance to lead, but the GCK Kepper was on the spot. An offensive foul brought again shortly before the end of the third and had to defend even in double outnumbered for a minute. The Feldkirchers survived this delicate situation harmless and so it went goalless into the first third break.
Powerplay Tor from Adams brings leadership for PIV
At the start of the second section, the Pioneers were outnumbered. After a second Swiss had to go to the penalty bench, the hosts were able to operate a minute in double overnight. However, the Lions defended well and came without prejudice to the penalty period. In the 26 minute of the game, the striking Adams initially failed on the Zurich keeper. In the next few minutes, however, Alex Caffi was in the spotlight on the opposite side when he thwarted several top -class players. In the 31 minute, he suddenly even saw himself two opposing players alone. Feldkirch’s goalkeeper kept his nerves again and kept his box clean. Shortly afterwards, Noah Greuter from the GCK made a four -minute punishment. Two seconds before the penalty period, the Pioneers were able to take the lead through Collin Adams. Then the guests pushed again and also came to good chances. But again it was Caffi who shone and kept his box clean.
Pioneers secure narrow victory
In minute 43, the Feldkirchers were again awarded an overpassion, but could not use them. After a fight between Tschofen and Spring, both had to go to the cool box, but five against five continued on the ice. Just a minute later, the Lions managed to equalize through a beautiful goal by Noel Berner. A good four minutes later it was Adams again who had the Feldkirchers cheered. After a nice pass from Oskar Maier, the American sank the hard rubber in the Zurich goal. Even with full risk, without keeper, the guests were unable to equalize and so the Pioneers were able to celebrate a short success against a Swiss League Club.
