The Steinbach Black Wings Linz are looking forward to their first big highlight in the 2026/27 pre-season. At the invitation of the ERC Ingolstadt, the Upper Austrians will be part of the tenth anniversary of the Vinschgau Cup in South Tyrol in mid-August.
The current championship in the win2day ICE Hockey League has not even been decided with the current final series, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz are already in full preparation for the 2026/27 season. For the Linz team, this traditionally begins at the beginning of August, when head coach Philipp Lukas gathers the new team for the start of training. In an almost month-long preparation phase for league operations, Brian Lebler and Co. are ready to take this year’s long summer break. The sporting management has already laid out an extensive framework plan over the past few weeks to accommodate the many new faces. A big highlight for the people of Stahlstadt will take place this year from August 21st to 23rd.
At the invitation of ERC Ingolstadt from the DEL, the Stahlstadters are traveling to South Tyrol to one of the most renowned preparatory tournaments. In the IceForum Latsch, top teams from all over Europe compete in their annual pre-season. The Steinbach Black Wings Linz have the honor of taking to the ice for the tenth anniversary after the first event in 2016. Overall, this is the third participation for the Upper Austrians. The other participants, the exact game mode and information about ticket sales will follow from the organizer in the coming weeks.
