VSV is taking a big step towards the pre-playoffs!

The EC iDM heat pump VSV starts the all-important phase with a complete success at FTC-Telekom. In Budapest, the Eagles celebrated a 4-2 win and a huge step towards the pre-playoffs.

At the beginning of the match it seemed as if the hosts from Budapest had more of the game as they established themselves in VSV’s defensive zone. However, the Eagles remained dangerous through their breakaways and took the lead in the 15th minute after another one from Brett Budgell – after a solo action.

Villach got off to a better start in the second half: after just 41 seconds played in the third, Philipp Lindner increased the lead to 2-0. However, FTC-Telekom stayed well in the game and was able to score the next goal through Gordon Green in the middle period.

The hosts carried this momentum into the final section and equalized early on. However, this was only short-lived: Adam Helewka put the Eagles in front again a short time later. The team from Budapest was still pushing for an equalizer, but Alex Wall made it 4-2 in the 51st minute.

The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV took a big step towards the pre-playoff. After this success, the lead over eleventh-placed FTC-Telekom is eight points. The VSV’s road trip to Hungary continues tomorrow, Sunday – at 4:00 p.m. they face Hydro Fehérvár AV19.
