The squad planning at EC VSV is increasingly taking on concrete forms – and at the same time is facing crucial decisions. Looking ahead to the coming season, there could be several personnel changes, particularly affecting the offensive side.
Helewka case
Adam Helewka is at the center of current developments. The Canadian has expressed his desire to leave the club. However, a possible departure is complicated: the VSV insists on a corresponding transfer payment and does not want to let its top performer go without a fight. Helewka was a central figure in Villach’s attacking game last season, which is why a replacement at a similarly high level must be found.
Hutchison also about to say goodbye?
At the same time, there are also question marks about Nick Hutchison. According to the “Kleine Zeitung”, the striker is said to have recently appeared dissatisfied. Should there actually be a farewell, there would be a need for additional action on the wing positions.
Regardless of these personnel details, planning is already in full swing. One thing is clear: VSV is actively looking for reinforcements in the center position – according to “Kleine Zeitung”, two new players are to come. One of them is intended as a direct replacement for Helewka, while the second is intended to increase squad depth and bring more variability to the offensive game.
Those responsible for the wings are also closely monitoring the market. A possible departure of Hutchison would make another commitment necessary. In addition, the contract with scorer Nikita Scherbak was terminated!
