Post Game Comment from Head Coach Kirk Furey:
“From the first shift you could see that our team consistently tried to get targets behind their defense; it was very straightforward and also efficient. Budapest actually only had concrete chances today when they were on the power play. Our defenders did a very good job and always found the right distances, our strikers didn’t fiddle around when they won targets, but played the game quickly. I thought we brought a good pace up the ice, and the powerplay also resulted in goals.
Overall, it was a good team performance, certainly one of our better ones this season in terms of 60-minute consistency. Of course, the two records that Nick Petersen and Sebastian Dahm set today were particularly positive. I couldn’t be happier for the two boys and their great milestones. Now we have a few well-deserved days off, time with our families, and then we’re looking forward to getting back on the ice and preparing for the derby.”
