At the ferencvaros Budapest league eggs, there is a change in the coaching staff. The previous head coach will take a different position within the association in the future. The new main advisor comes from Germany to Hungary.
Actually, the previous head coach, Fodor Szabolcs in the first season in the Win2day Ice Hockey League wanted to work as head coach and general manager. But it quickly became clear that both just didn’t work together. Thus, Szabolcs, who was the main trainee for the Magyaren for seven years, “only” the position of General Manager, but replacement for the Hungary has already been found.
The Finn Timo Saarikoski comes to Budapest from the DEL2. The 56-year-old played almost 600 games at Finnish first division level in his active player career and came to 408 scorer points. Saarikoski has been working as a trainer since 2011, and between 2019 and 2025 he was under contract with Chamonix, Kosice and the EHC Freiburg. Ferencvaros thus becomes the fourth coaching station outside of Finland.
