Surprising transfer in the win2day ICE Hockey League: Austrian national player Mathias Böhm is leaving EC Red Bull Salzburg and moving to Pioneers Vorarlberg on loan in the middle of the current season.
The 22-year-old striker came to the Red Bulls from the Vienna Capitals in the summer, but was unable to sustainably assert himself in the strong squad. In the current ICEHL season, Böhm remained without a scorer point in 24 appearances for Salzburg.
Things went much better for the 1.90 meter tall attacker in the farm team: Böhm collected 12 points (in 15 games) for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the Alps Hockey League and regularly showed his offensive potential there.
With the move to the Pioneers Vorarlberg, Böhm will now be given more ice time and responsibility in order to regain his game rhythm and self-confidence. For the Vorarlbergers, the loan means a reinforcement on the offensive.
