AlpsHL preview: RB Juniors vs. Ritten is the duel of the hottest teams!

On Saturday there will be a duel between the two hottest teams in the Alps Hockey League. League leaders Red Bull Hockey Juniors host the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, who – like Salzburg – have won their last four games but are still fighting for a place in the top 5. Another important direct duel for direct playoff qualification is between EC Bregenzerwald and HC Migross Asiago.

HDD Jesenice – KHL Sisak
The KHL Sisak will be visiting Jesenice on Saturday. Sisak is currently in second place in the table, just three points behind Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Jesenice is currently in eleventh place in the table – but the middle of the table is absolutely within reach. The first duel in October went to Sisak 4-1, with a strong final section being the deciding factor.

Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan welcome a top 4 team in the Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. Kitzbühel suffered two bitter defeats against top teams in the last three games, but recently returned to winning ways with a clear win over Bregenzerwald. The first duel of the season between these two teams was only decided in extra time in Kitzbühel.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors – Rittner Buam SkyAlps
League leaders Salzburg welcome the Rittner Buam SkyAlps on Saturday, who are fighting for a place in the top 5. The South Tyroleans are currently one point behind direct playoff qualification. Like the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, Ritten also won its last four games – two of them in overtime and in a shootout. This means that the two hottest teams in the league meet. The South Tyroleans won the first duel this season 4:3.

EC Bregenzerwald – HC Migross Asiago
In the duel between EC Bregenzerwald and HC Migross Asiago, two teams that are in the middle of the race for the top 5 places meet. While Asiago is currently in fifth place, Vorarlberg is only two points behind in seventh place. Asiago won the first duel of the season 4-1.

HC Meran/o Pircher – EK The Zeller Eisbären
The Zeller Eisbären, currently third in the Alps Hockey League, welcome the penultimate HC Meran/o Pircher. However, Meran recently surprised against Asiago and has thus made it back into the top 10. Zell is only four points behind second place in the table, but has played two fewer games than Sisak so far. Meran also won the first duel of the season between these two teams in a penalty shootout.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it – Hockey Unterland Cavaliers
At the end of the round there will be a duel between two teams from the bottom third of the table: tenth-placed HC Gherdeina will host the bottom team Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. Unterland recently celebrated a win against Jesenice. Gherdeina lost his last three meetings. In the first duel of the season, Unterland celebrated a victory after extra time.
