The dragons from Laibach started the new season furiously. Olimpija Ljubljana dismantled the Vienna Capitals 8-1 in front of a home backdrop.

Olimpija Ljubljana went off the ice with an 8-1 win. The Slovenes fell behind the Vienna Capitals early on, then turned up properly in front of a home backdrop. With Evan Polei, Robert Sabolic and TJ burning, three players recorded a double pack.
