Vienna Capitals a size too big for HC Innsbruck!

The Vienna Capitals won 5-2 over HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie. Simon Bourque contributed two goals to the 19th win of the season.

The Vienna Capitals won 5-2 against HC TIWAG Innsbruck on their “Military Night” on Friday evening, making them the only team in the chasing group (ranks 7-11) that still has a mathematical chance of making it to the top 6.

The Viennese controlled the encounter against the bottom team from the start and took the lead in the 17th minute thanks to a blueliner from Simon Bourque. At the beginning of the second period, Max Coatta was able to equalize for Innsbruck, but the Caps remained the clearly superior team. Goals from Leon Wallner, Zane Franklin and Carter Souch made it 4-1 in the middle period and thus the preliminary decision. Bourque completed his brace in the final section with a 5-1 win.
