EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a clear 5-1 home win against FTC-Telekom Budapest, extending its winning streak to seven games. In front of an almost sold-out crowd, Salzburg controlled the game for long stretches and set the course for victory in the second third. The home side got off to a powerful start and took an early lead through Benjamin Nissner (7th). Budapest equalized in the starting third when Tyler Coulter scored on the power play four seconds before the break (20th). After the break, Salzburg clearly took command again. Connor Corcoran put the Red Bulls back in the lead (24th), before Peter Schneider (37th) and Mario Huber (39th) made it 4-1 before the second break. In the final period, Schneider scored his second goal of the evening for the final score (42nd) and his first brace of the season. Salzburg hardly allowed any more chances defensively and confidently achieved a clear home win over time. Salzburg are still in sixth place in the table.
