Stitched with 50 stitches: NHL coach with horror injury!

In the NHL, it’s not what’s happening on the ice that’s causing a stir right now, but rather the shocking injury to a star coach. Toronto coach Craig Berube showed up at the boards last Saturday with a brutal-looking head injury.

There is a centimeter-thick, horseshoe-shaped scar on Berube’s forehead that makes even experienced ice hockey fans gulp. The wound was so severe that it required almost 50 stitches. In addition, his eye was noticeably swollen – a sight that immediately caused speculation.

As the NHL coach explained after the game, the accident occurred in the gym. However, Berube did not want to reveal further details. Instead, he reacted at the press conference with his usual dry humor: “The other guy looks much worse. There were three of them,” he initially joked, but then clarified: “It was just a bad accident. It’s my fault and I’m fine. I won’t say anything more about it. Nobody needs to know that.”

Despite the serious injury, Berube did not let himself be disturbed and stood by the boards as usual.
