A shocking moment overshadowed the ICEHL game between VSV and Salzburg on Friday evening even before the first face-off. Shortly before the warm-up, as the “Kronen Zeitung” reports, the VSV team doctor had to be called out in the hall – there was a medical emergency in the EC Red Bull Salzburg dressing room.
Salzburg striker Peter Hochkofler suddenly collapsed and had to be immediately taken to the Villach regional hospital. Late in the evening there was a cautious all-clear: Salzburg’s head coach Manny Viveiros explained that Hochkofler was already doing better and had been released from the hospital. However, further investigations are still pending. According to initial information, a migraine attack may have been the trigger for the collapse.
