ICEHL: Vienna Capitals End Laibach’s dream start!

The Vienna Capitals ended the winning streak of Olimpija Ljubljana. The capitals prevailed 3: 1 at home, but the Slovenes remain leaders.

The Vienna Capitals were able to keep Olimpija Ljubljana and the best offensive in the league to date over long distances and ultimately celebrate a 3-1 home win. After the clear 1: 8 defeat at the start of the season in Ljubljana, it was the perfect answer from the Viennese, who also as the first team inflicted a defeat to the Slovenes. The player of the game was Sam Antonitsch, who scored 1-0 after 65 seconds and fixed the 3-1 final score in the 47th minute. In the meantime, Bine Mašič had compensated for the guests in the 34th minute. But the Capitals, for whom it was the fourth win of the season, showed up this evening and took the lead again in the 43rd minute by Lukas Zach-Kiesling before Antonitsch put the final point. In the goal of the Capitals, Sebastian Wraneschitz shone with 30 parades. Vienna is now in sixth in the table, while Ljubljana stays at the top with 16 points – also because Salzburg lost to Bolzano.
