Transfer: KAC extends long-term goal scorer!

Simeon Schwinger, the Red Jackets’ second-best goalscorer from the past 2025/26 season, has extended his contract with EC-KAC for another two years.

The EC-KAC is pleased to announce that it will continue to be able to rely on Simeon Schwinger’s services in the future. The striker, who has been under contract with the Austrian record champions since February 2023, signed a new working document after a fantastic 2025/26 season, the validity of which extends over the next two seasons.

Simeon Schwinger comes from Dornbirn and completed his junior training with the Bulldogs based there. Through the EC Bregenzerwald and the second level, the winger worked his way into the professional squad of his parent club, which was then still in the top division in Austria. Including a short stint with the Vienna Capitals, Simeon Schwinger made 177 appearances in what is now the win2day ICE Hockey League by 2022. He started the 2022/23 season at EHC Olten in Switzerland, but immediately before the transfer deadline in February he joined the EC-KAC. Since then, the Vorarlberg native has had a very positive development in Klagenfurt, particularly in the two most recent seasons he has proven to be an accurate offensive player. His 20 ICE goals in the past 2025/26 season were the third highest in the league by an Austrian player (behind Paul Huber and Brian Lebler). Simeon Schwinger has played 199 competitive games for the Red Jackets so far and currently has 42 goals and assists in the red and white jersey.

General Manager Oliver Pilloni: “Simeon Schwinger has developed very positively in his three years with our club so far, he has gone from being a supplementary player to a reliable point collector. There are only a handful of locals in our league who score 20 or more goals this season, we are happy that we have one of them in our club. Simeon Schwinger is an all-rounder who fits into different roles and can also take a lot, he also fits in very well with our team as a person “Because the appreciation is mutual, we quickly agreed that we wanted to continue on our path together.”

Simeon Schwinger himself is also very satisfied with the extension of his commitment to the EC-KAC: “I’m really happy that I can continue to play in Klagenfurt. Staying at the EC-KAC was my top priority, because the club also wanted to keep me, we quickly agreed. In the next two years we will work as a team and organization to bring the championship title back to Klagenfurt. The city and the surrounding area have already grown very close to my heart. On a personal level, I come from a good place season, but I still see a lot of room for further development and improvement. I want to take advantage of this opportunity in the coming seasons so that I can continue to serve our team even better.”
