The VSV, which was the fairest team in the league last season, is much tougher this year. Sports director Herbert Hohenberger welcomes this development.
“The physical game is what has always set us apart in Villach,” emphasizes Hohenberger to the “Kronen Zeitung” and sees his team on the right track again. He particularly praises the new signings Adam Helewka, Nick Hutchison and Steven Strong: “I just like these types of players and they are good for the whole club.”
Coach Tuomie emphasizes the importance of being robust: “Toughness is important – but you also have to be careful.” He reminds us that VSV received a lot of unnecessary penalties at the start of the season.
“I don’t like it when we have to take stupid penalties just because we don’t move,” he warns.
Tuomie therefore demands discipline so as not to fall back into old patterns.
