In the win2day ICE Hockey League, play will resume on December 26th after the short Christmas break. EC Red Bull Salzburg has to go to Feldkirch for the fourth duel of the season with Pioneers Vorarlberg (6:00 p.m., live stream).
The game in Ländle marks the start of another intensive phase for the Red Bulls, in which they will play six games in eleven days up to and including January 5th. It is all the more important for Salzburg to get off to a good restart after a recent strong series against Pioneers Vorarlberg.
Initial situation
The Red Bulls have gotten back on track in the last few weeks and have worked their way back into the top 6 of the ICE Hockey League with a five-game winning streak. Salzburg is currently in fifth place, but is only one point ahead of sixth-placed Bozen, who have played two fewer games. Nevertheless, the recovery is clearly visible and gives further confidence, which culminated in the 3-0 home win against second-placed Graz in the last game before Christmas.
Just eight days ago, the Red Bulls celebrated a 7-0 home win against the Pioneers Vorarlberg – their biggest win of the season so far – and can therefore travel to Feldkirch with a big chest. But the Red Bulls are not under the illusion that a game like this can easily be repeated and they also have the last appearance in Feldkirch in mind; At the end of October, Vorarlberg fought back to a 3-2 overtime victory after being 2-0 down. In general, they know how to surpass themselves in their own hall. They won six of the eight wins this season in front of their own crowd and also surprised Ljubljana on December 21st, who had to return home with a 2-5 defeat.
