Fabian Hochegger
has extended his contract by two years, according to the “Kronen Zeitung”. In this way, the club is retaining one of its own players on a long-term basis.
Homemade player stays on board
Hochegger is a genuine KAC product. The 24-year-old went through all the junior levels in Klagenfurt and finally made the jump to the fighting team. Since his debut, he has established himself step by step and is now a permanent member of the Red Jackets’ squad. The contract extension is therefore also a clear commitment to our own work with young talent.
Development becomes an integral part
In terms of sport, the winger’s curve has recently been pointing upwards. In the ICEHL, Hochegger has already made over 170 appearances and has increasingly been able to contribute offensively. He celebrated his breakthrough in the 2022/23 season when he was named the league’s “Rookie of the Year”. Since then, he has been in demand primarily as an awkward, strong-running two-way striker.
Between North America and Klagenfurt
An important development step took Hochegger abroad early on: he played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the Canadian junior league QMJHL. After this experience, he returned to Klagenfurt and worked his way up again through the Future Team.
