Former VSV scorer Scott Kosmachuk, currently active with the Vienna Capitals in the ICEHL, returns to the Villach town hall this evening. During the season, the Canadian was again on the Eagles’ roster.
As VSV General Manager Martin Winkler explains, the unfortunate timing of Alexander Rauchwald’s injury prevented the striker from being signed. “Unfortunately it overlapped. If ‘Xandi’ had been injured a week earlier, we would of course have dealt with Scott,” Winkler told the “Kleine Zeitung”. Kosmachuk made 11 appearances for the Capitals this season, collecting two goals and seven assists. For the Eagles he scored 53 goals in 106 games.
