A well-known name is back on the market:
CJ Stretch. The American who once worked in the EBEL (today
ICE Hockey League) was one of the most striking offensive players, was said goodbye to his club and is currently without an employer and therefore interesting for numerous clubs.
Golden age in Znojmo
Stretch probably had his strongest phase in Central European ice hockey
Orli Znojmo. In the 2018/19 season he played 51 games in which he scored 16 goals and recorded 35 assists, which gave him a total of 51 points. He also remained productive in the playoffs and had one goal and three assists in five games, i.e. four points. With these performances, he was one of the top scorers in the league and had a significant influence on his team’s offensive game.
Short chapter in Vienna
In the summer of 2019, the switch to the
Vienna Capitals. However, there were no competitive games there because the contract was terminated before the start of the season for personal reasons.
Successful years in Germany
After leaving Vienna, Stretch continued his career primarily in Germany and established himself as a reliable scorer, especially in the DEL2. Both
Starbulls Rosenheim
he recently showed his qualities again. In the 2024/25 season he had 13 goals and 46 assists in 52 games, i.e. 59 points, while he remained pointless in five games in the playoffs.
In the current 2025/26 season, he scored 14 goals and 24 assists in 48 games, resulting in 38 points, and contributed four assists in five games in the playoffs.
Now the striker is back on the market, Rosenheim did not extend the expiring contract.
